Mourning Wood

CASE-003 - "Mourning Wood" is a phenomenon occurring in ROBLOX clients as early as 2010-2012. This Case would appear as an unidentifiable decal placed on the surfaces of objects using the "wood" material, resembling a bunch of sketched eyes.
When users had undergone a traumatic event or accident involving the loss of someone dear to them, an instance of CASE-003 would manifest in every place they join, appearing only on their end. Viewing CASE-003 instances directly would silence any audio that lasted 13 or more seconds, and would instead play an eerie howling noise alike that of wind. Continuing to view a CASE-003 instance for exactly 780 seconds would cause every application [including the ROBLOX client] to close. It is also important to note that ongoing recordings would seem to grow progressively more corrupted as CASE-003 was viewed.
CASE-003 instances were deemed impossible to remove by normal standards, and no files related to the phenomenon could be identified inside of the client's files. However, it was determined to only last for until the subject had fully gotten over their grievances.
CASE-003's existence spawned a large number of forum posts, all sharing a similar theming of the user having undergone a loss that deeply upset them. Many users, using this correlation as evidence, theorised that the phenomenon was implemented into ROBLOX as a way to comfort the grieving. However, many users would state otherwise, claiming that it would not make sense to implement such a strange feature that would clearly be questioned.
On November 13th, 2012, CASE-003 was no longer reported to manifest. It is currently suspected that the prior "implemented feature" theory was true, and that ROBLOX had disabled it. It could also be possible that ROBLOX had simply patched the existence of the anomaly. It cannot be confirmed whether the anomaly is truly inactive or not. Sorry for the immature name btw
